Digital colour tinting

Old Black & White photos can be digitally colour tinted and given a new lease of life. Our digital “hand colouring” service is often requested for customers wanting a unique photo gift for a loved one. We use whatever colour guidance you can provide and some careful guess work to add colours to the image.

We can also use this technique for heavily faded colour photographs. Sometimes the colour information is too damaged to recover and partial or full colourising is needed. Costs depend on the complexity of the photo. A head and shoulders shot on a simple background will be much quicker to colour than a group shot against a busy background.

Repair to faded colour photo damaged by sunlight

repaired sun fading
sunlight damaged photo
A common type of problem we see where photos on display in picture frames become faded from exposure to sunlight over the years. This picture had “suffered” twice, once in an oval frame and then in a narrow frame causing uneven fading. The colour information wasn’t great so we restored this to B&W and then recoloured it for the best results.

Fixing very bad colour cast to a digital photo by recolouring

Very bad colour cast
This modern digital photo looks to have been taken with the wrong colour temperature setting and has a very bad colour cast. The colour information was too bad to recover so it had to be digitally recoloured.

After losing my wife recently I was going through her things and saw the spare passport photos from a few years ago. It was a nice photo, a bit scatched and dog eared, but it was from before she had been ill. I thought that it was a pity it was so small as it would have made a nice keep sake if I could frame it, if only I could get it enlarged. Surely that can’t be possible without a negative I thought, so I googled the question and came…

I first came across 2graphic in 2008 when they did an amazing job on one of my wedding photographs. I didn’t have a picture of me with my brothers and sister together and they made one for me from the pictures I gave them. The most recent job they did for me was with a photograph I had taken on my iphone 4 and they turned the whole picture around for me as it was quite bleached and grainy. 2graphic provide a fast, professional and wha…

100% happy with the results..amazing what you can do these days with technology! Would recommend to anyone looking to have a picture colour tinted. Another picture is definately on its way to yourselves sometime this week and will use time and time again for old pictures that need restoring or if I would like a picture background taken out etc. Thanks again.
