Digital colour tinting

Old Black & White photos can be digitally colour tinted and given a new lease of life. Our digital “hand colouring” service is often requested for customers wanting a unique photo gift for a loved one. We use whatever colour guidance you can provide and some careful guess work to add colours to the image.

We can also use this technique for heavily faded colour photographs. Sometimes the colour information is too damaged to recover and partial or full colourising is needed. Costs depend on the complexity of the photo. A head and shoulders shot on a simple background will be much quicker to colour than a group shot against a busy background.

Repair to faded colour photo damaged by sunlight

repaired sun fading
sunlight damaged photo
A common type of problem we see where photos on display in picture frames become faded from exposure to sunlight over the years. This picture had “suffered” twice, once in an oval frame and then in a narrow frame causing uneven fading. The colour information wasn’t great so we restored this to B&W and then recoloured it for the best results.

Customer Testimonials

When I lost my mum earlier in the year one of dad’s most treasured possessions was a 45 year old framed wedding photo of her on the bedroom wall. Time had taken it’s toll and it was well faded. Gareth’s team were able to take the original print from the wedding album and create a gorgeous colourful 16 x 12 print that will bring a little sunshine into dad’s life. My originals were carefully looked after and returned promptly. Very h…

The print produced from a WW1 mould damaged portrait of our Great Uncle who died in 1918 was truly amazing. Thank you very much for bringing someone back to us who we thought we had lost twice. Brilliant service – highly recommended.

This is my go to company for photograph restoration and printing. I knew nothing about the company when I first made contact; but once I had spoken to Gareth I knew that my photographs would be in safe hands. I have not been disappointed; in fact I am so happy with the work done that I find it difficult to stop submitting more photographs! Relatives and friends benefit too as the prints and canvasses make wonderful presents. Many thank…
