Digital colour tinting

Old Black & White photos can be digitally colour tinted and given a new lease of life. Our digital “hand colouring” service is often requested for customers wanting a unique photo gift for a loved one. We use whatever colour guidance you can provide and some careful guess work to add colours to the image.

We can also use this technique for heavily faded colour photographs. Sometimes the colour information is too damaged to recover and partial or full colourising is needed. Costs depend on the complexity of the photo. A head and shoulders shot on a simple background will be much quicker to colour than a group shot against a busy background.

Repair to faded colour photo damaged by sunlight

repaired sun fading
sunlight damaged photo
A common type of problem we see where photos on display in picture frames become faded from exposure to sunlight over the years. This picture had “suffered” twice, once in an oval frame and then in a narrow frame causing uneven fading. The colour information wasn’t great so we restored this to B&W and then recoloured it for the best results.

Customer Testimonials

We were asked by my In-laws to enlarge an old photo they had of their family dating back to 1950. The photo was small and had cracks in several places. I was looking for a Photo company who could enlarge my scanned copy when I found “Photo Restoration” on Google Search Engine. When I read into what they could do for old photos and new prints the decision was easy. No money up front until they show you a proof and then if your happy y…

After losing my wife recently I was going through her things and saw the spare passport photos from a few years ago. It was a nice photo, a bit scatched and dog eared, but it was from before she had been ill. I thought that it was a pity it was so small as it would have made a nice keep sake if I could frame it, if only I could get it enlarged. Surely that can’t be possible without a negative I thought, so I googled the question and came…

You restored 2 very old photos for me which I took as a surprise to my 98 year old mother and I wish you could have been with us when she saw them. One shows her as a 5 year old girl, facing a camera for the first time in her life. You helped her recall what that felt like as she tried hard to do what she’d been told: ‘stand up straight and hold your head up.’ The other, which we thought damaged beyond repair, is the only photo she…

I was very happy with the 2GRAPHIC’s work. They were very prompt in responding to my initial query. They communicated clearly with me through the process and the finished product was excellent. I really liked how I could see the finished product before I purchased it.
