Photograph Manipulation

If you want something extra doing with your photo we can manipulate it accordingly. One common request is to change the background of a photograph. Sometimes we’ll suggest this on a badly damaged photo as it can be cheaper to add a new background than repair a damaged one.

Another popular choice is to crop and isolate someone from a group photo, perhaps painting out overlapping bits from other people and adding extra background. Our sister site photo-manipulation.co.uk has more information and examples.

Extract a person from an old group photograph

Sometimes a nice photo of a person on their own doesn’t exist. In this instance we can extract someone from a group photo to make a new picture of them by themselves. This is exactly what we did here. A section of the photo was cropped and enlarged. The girls head at the bottom was painted out along with the people either side. Luckily there was enough background available to use existing elements to remove the unwanted people.

An American customer wanted the people removing from in-front of this Corvette photo but DIDN’T want the image repairing. We had to fight our natural instincts to paint out the creases and just focus on painting out the people. We sourced other photos of Corvettes and manipulated bits to add back the obstructed car detail.
